Holder Mathias Architects was appointed to produce a masterplan and to obtain detailed planning consent for around 350 residential units. In formulating the masterplan Holder Mathias Architects reached agreement with the various interested parties on how to retain the original listed buildings, preserve and manage the mature landscaping, and address environmental issues. A strategy was agreed with English Heritage, and the Local Planning Authority for the retention of key buildings which then form the core of a new development. We formulated a Landscape Strategy which identified the key landscape features to be retained.
