Holder Mathias developed a comprehensive masterplan for the redevelopment of the listed hospital in Leek, Staffordshire which involved reaching agreement with the various interested parties on how to retain some of the original listed buildings, preserve and manage the mature landscaping, and address environmental issues.  It was granted detailed planning consent for approximately 350 new residential units.

Holder Mathias formulated a Landscape Strategy which identified the key features to be retained, and the resulting developable areas. The refurbishment of the list buildings has involved utilising the large internal spaces, high ceilings and impressive bay windows of the old ward blocks to develop a complex design of high quality 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed apartments and town houses.
