Holder Mathias moves into larger London studio
Holder Mathias has responded to continued growth in its client base by relocating to a new larger studio in Piccadilly.
The practice has agreed a 10-year lease on the premises, which is located in Clareville House on Oxendon Street, in an investment worth £150,000.
The studio is larger than Holder Mathias’ previous base in Mayfair, with significantly improved facilities and studio space now all on one floor. It will house up to 40 of the practice’s staff and is networked with high-speed links to Holder Mathias’ studios in both Cardiff and Munich.
The offices, chosen in part for their sustainable credentials, were recently refurbished to a building certificate (EPC) level B in line with the practice’s ISO 14001:2004 accreditation.
Peter Gamble, managing director of Holder Mathias, says: “The new London studio will be key to our growth over the next few years and is a response to our growing client base both in the UK and internationally.
“With more space over a single floor, the new studio provides a better creative working environment for our project teams. It also allows us to service our national, European and international client base from a better quality, central London location.”
The practice’s recent projects include designing the two central buildings at the heart of the new £250 million Center Parcs site in Woburn, the £70 million regeneration project to deliver a new Longbridge town centre, as well as a major international sports village in Central Asia.
Holder Mathias has also developed a reputation for delivering large-scale projects outside of the UK. It has completed over a million sq ft of built retail space across Europe in Germany, Italy and Hungary and has a further one million sq ft of retail space in total either about to start on site or in the planning system in Slovakia, Estonia and France.
