Construction of a luxurious spa complex with aspirations to be “truly world class” has been completed at the five star Lucknam Park Hotel near Bath. Handing over the £14 million redevelopment of the spa facilities at Lucknam Park is the culmination of three years work.

To the casual observer the new state–of–the-art spa buildings appear to be part of an 18th Century walled garden. On entering the 1800 square metre complex, however, guests see that the reception and pool areas look skyward through an expansive Planar® glazed canopy, contributing to the building’s impressive environmental credentials while the elegant treatment rooms are shielded beneath a sedum roof.

A focal point of the internal architectural concept is the spectacular 20-metre, level-deck pool, fed by a waterfall which cascades over a feature fireplace. The water in the in-out hydrotherapy pool flows over glass sides to create an infinite horizon which draws the eye to the outside through the seamless Shear Glaze® wall, leading to the tranquil spa gardens with their hot salt hot-tub and landscaped herbarium.
