The international firm of architects Holder Mathias, which has its headquarters in Cardiff, has been named the best practice in Wales for the second year running. The firm also took the regional award category for Wales in the AJ100. The award was judged on a confidential staff survey and best practice and voted for by Holder Mathias’ peers in the architecture profession.
Peter Gamble, Managing Director at Holder Mathias, said: “This award is testament to the value we place on looking after our people, and the quality of our work that flows from this approach. I am proud of the talented people in our team, and this award reflects the commitment and hard work they have put in over the past year.”
Kieran Long, editor–in–chief of the Architects’ Journal, said: “The AJ100 is based on business success and Holder Mathias is certainly a Welsh success story. Not only did it earn £6m in architectural fees this year, ranking 75th among the 100 biggest practices in Britain, it also scooped a regional award, which means 700 architectural staff working at AJ100 practices voted Holder Mathias as the most desirable place to work in Wales.”
