£50mA 500 unit residential scheme for Barratt South Wales on a former industrial copper works site located on the east bank of the River Tawe.
The scheme comprises of two distinct elements,
a river frontage formed with 5–7 storey apartment blocks, paired together in front of a new formed public river walk that traverses the length of the east bank and a residential housing scheme adapted from Barratt’s in house pattern book guide, with a majority of “hidden” parking courtyards to conceal parked vehicles and improve the pedestrian realm.
The scheme is held together by a comprehensive landscape strategy which knits the two distinct design elements, while building detail design will pick up on historic industrial references that are reflected in both the apartment and housing units.
