Project

Forum Steglitz Centre

Location

Berlin

Value

20 million Euros

As a late 70´s shopping centre, Forum Steglitz had become outdated, claustrophobic and poorly equiped to compete with new developments in the district.  In 2004 owners Hammersons embarked on an ambitious strategy of completely modernising the centre whilst keeping it open for trading and retaining the existing key tenants.

Holder Mathias developed a concept for remodelling the centre providing it with a new contemporary frontage, significantly improved internal circulation and natural light together with improved larger retail units and enhanced car parking.  The building´s M&E systems were renewed and existing asbestos removed all while the centre remained open.

The renewed Forum Steglitz has successfully countered the threat from other developments and has regained its position as a premier centre in the district.
