Having won a design competition, Holder Mathias Architects was appointed by Scottish Mutual Assurance plc to design a new 47,000 sqft, high quality office building within an important Conservation Area in the centre of Bristol. The site fronts onto an historic parade and pleasant landscaped park. Within the southeast corner of the site, the remains of a late Victorian church tower and entrance facade have been integrated into the design of the front elevation. Archaeological excavations began on site in January 1995 and construction commenced in June 1995 with completion in June 1996.
